WP-o-Matic 1.0RC3 beta shipping.

Here is the upcoming RC3 release!

Remember that, just like any release prior to 1.0, upgrading will erase your previous campaigns, feeds, logs, etc.

  • Now compatible with Wordpress 2.5
  • Categories shown with indentation (parent > children now separated)
  • SimplePie updated to 1.1.1, and SimplePie Core now supported.
  • Fixed broken cron command
  • Fixed broken export on some systems
  • Fixed broken redirect when resetting a campaign
  • Everything now stored in GMT to avoid time issues. Gotten rid of NOW() functions in favor of WP time functions
  • Fixed bug with validation upon deletion of feeds in existing campaigns
  • Fixed bug with ‘allow comments’ setting.
  • Fixed bug with logs dates
  • Fixed bug with double quote escaping (fixes campaign templates / rewrite html bugs)
  • Username in options tab changed to a more handy select box.
  • Interface now looks better on IE (d’oh)
  • Added many help files
  • Fixed annoying duplicates bug
  • Fixed small bug in import with labels

I need feedback on:

  • All sorts of errors, warnings, notices, blank screens
  • Styling problems, indicating Browser, OS, URL and a screenshot.
  • Behavioral problems: bad dates, bad content, duplicates, etc
  • Performance problems
  • Unexpected behavior

Always include instructions on how to reproduce the issues please!

  • 4 - Fixed bugs with older WP releases (now WP-o-Matic works with any version starting from 2.2). Now rewrite works with PHP4.
  • 5 - str_ireplace bug fixed, allow comments bug fixed, now user can choose comments state.

I having the same issue as Carlos now–

Fetch works, but the cron job doesn’t fire processing.

Haven’t tracked it down yet, but I only took a quick look…

    Again:

Trying to install wp-o-matic lastest release on a linux box… Reveived following error:

    Warning: is_executable() [function.is-executable]: open_basedir
restriction in effect. File(/usr/sbin/wget) is not within the allowed
    path(s):
    (/www/htdocs/w009775a/:/tmp:/usr/bin:/www/htdocs/w009775a:/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/share/php)
    in
    /www/htdocs/w009775a/wp-content/plugins/wp-o-matic/inc/tools.class.php
    on line 88

Hosting provider does not allow wget access… Prior versions of wp-o-matic worked… where can i get them again?

    Thx.
    Andre

Is there any way to make the intervals between processing of campaigns shorter? I set the interval to 1 hour for each campaign but the dashboard estimates around 10 hours.

I’m running the latest version (WP-o-Matic 1.0RC3-7) on my MacBookPro, using MAMP PHP 5 and WP (2.6-bleeding - Revision 7924).

WoM will update the feeds perfectly when I Fetch manually, but cronjob does nothing. I already fixed the cron command to include an http reference to my development website (I’m using Apache and virtual servers on my Mac, so that http://dev.website.com leads to my local development copy).

Any ideas why I’m unable to automatically update the feeds?

    Thanks… awesome plugin.

Right, after a move to a new server (where Apache etc. runs as user) and a fresh install (dropping all tables etc. in between), rc3-7 is now working perfectly for me :-).

    Hi,
First of all thanks for this great tool.

    Problem:
RSS / Atom feeds from Google News Alerts are not fetched at all. When setting up a campaign everything seems ok. No error messages. When force fetching no error message appears and the following message shows up: “Campaign processed. 0 posts fetched”.

    Help welcome, thanks.

    Hi Guillermo,

I seem to have the issue of dates for the cronjob fetch being wrong. Fetched a few now, and I still see a December 31st ‘latest processed’ date and next fetch in 2 yrs.

Not very savvy - so any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Trixxxia

    @Dan

What version of WP, PHP, Server, etc?

    Dan Says:

This time I emptied the db tables before attempting to re-install rc3-7. I set up a new campaign, working through each tab in turn, and then hit submit — site when un-responsive. Deleting wpomatic.php restored access.

In fact even when I delete the whole wp-o-matic folder in my plugins directory and then re-installed the plugin, as soon as I hit “activate” in the plugins admin panel the blog stopped responding… again, as soon as I deteled wpomatic.php, the blog came back up.
